We live in a world where bigger is often seen as better, but those who ride and race boonie bikes know this isn’t always true. When it comes to these mini machines, a little fun goes a loooong way.

No one knows this better than Frazee, MN flat track racer Bubba Samuelson. After racing and placing in the War of the Twins’ hooligan class for the event’s first two years, he’ll be tearing around the track in the all-new Bubba’s Boonie Bike Class during the War of the Twins III on March 21, 2020.

Bubba races flat track with his daughter, Chelsea. He competes in the Hooligan and Open Twin classes, and Chelsea races Women’s and 250.

But when there are no big bikes to race, they race boonie bikes on any given day, either at home or on a track.

“Nothing makes you feel like a kid more than a pull-start mini bike,” he says.

Bubba first competed in a boonie bike race during Flat Out Friday held during the Mama Tried Show in Milwaukee, WI, where Jeremy Prach first organized boonie bike racing on concrete.

He then went on to hold his own boonie bike event, Bubba’s Boonie Bike Brawl, at Apol’s Harley-Davidson in Alexandria, MN. Putting on these types of events is something Bubba hopes he can do as often as possible. In the meantime, he’s ready to show spectators in the Lee & Rose Warner Coliseum that good things come in small packages.
